Hi, I’m Jenessa.
I’m a therapist, former school counselor, and former teacher who has spent much of my career supporting children, teens, young adults, and their families.
I specialize in working with neurodivergent kids, teens, and young adults, particularly those with ADHD and autism. I help young people better understand themselves while building practical ways to navigate emotions, executive functioning, relationships, school or college, anxiety, depression, and growing independence.
With children and teens, I believe relationships are an important part of both understanding the struggle and creating change. Depending on your child and family’s needs, therapy may include individual work, parent support, parent-child sessions, or family therapy.
With younger children, I work closely with parents using developmentally appropriate, play-based and Theraplay-informed approaches. Rather than focusing on behavior alone, we work to understand what’s underneath it while helping children develop new ways of regulating, communicating, coping, and relating. Through play and relationship, children can practice new skills and patterns while strengthening the connection, trust, and emotional safety that support lasting growth.
Across ages, my approach is warm, collaborative, relational, and neurodiversity-affirming—combining understanding and connection with practical skills for meaningful change.
